Onboarding Wizard

Walk through the first-time setup wizard

Onboarding Wizard

The onboarding wizard guides you through carrier setup, agent configuration, and initial AMS sync in 10 minutes.

Accessing the Wizard

The wizard auto-launches on your first login. You can also run it anytime:

  1. Go to Settings > Setup Wizard
  2. Click Run Setup Wizard

Wizard Steps

Step 1: Verify Agency Info

Confirm the agency profile you entered during signup:

  • Agency name
  • Address
  • Phone
  • E&O certificate (must be current)
  • Producer license (must be verified)

If anything is out of date, update it here before proceeding.

Step 2: Add Your Carriers

Define your appointed carriers and commission structure.

For each carrier:

  1. Search by name (e.g., "State Farm", "Travelers", "GEICO")
  2. Set commission split (e.g., standard 15%, new business 18%)
  3. Set appetite (controls which quotes appear to clients):
    • Full — All risks accepted (standard)
    • Selective — Exclude certain zip codes, risks, or hazards
    • Closed — Not currently quoting this carrier
  4. Set auto-renewal (days before renewal to auto-shop: 60, 90, 120)

The wizard lets you add up to 10 carriers. You can add more later.

Step 3: Configure Agents

Choose which autonomous agents to enable and set their defaults.

Agents available:

| Agent | Default Settings | |-------|------------------| | Renewal Agent | Shop at 60 days; auto-generate proposals | | Client Service Agent | Enable COI request automation | | Retention Agent | Enable flight-risk scoring | | New Business Agent | Enable lead triage (if you use Zapier webhooks) |

For now, Renewal Agent is the most impactful. Enable it to auto-shop renewals and send renewal packets to clients.

Customize Later: You can fine-tune agent thresholds after setup (see Customize Agents).

Step 4: Connect Your AMS (Optional)

Sync your existing clients and policies from your agency management system.

Supported AMS:

  • AMS360
  • Applied Epic
  • HawkSoft
  • EZLynx

To connect:

  1. Select your AMS
  2. Click Authorize
  3. Enter your AMS login credentials (BindPilot does not store them)
  4. Approve scope permissions
  5. BindPilot begins syncing your clients (may take 5–15 minutes for large books)

If your AMS is not listed: You can manually import clients via CSV. See CSV Import.

Step 5: Set Up Billing

Choose a plan and add your payment method.

Available Plans:

| Plan | Cost | For | |------|------|-----| | Starter | $199/month | 1 producer, basic quoting | | Professional | $499/month | Up to 3 producers, automation agents | | Agency | $999/month | Unlimited producers, white-label proposals, priority support |

Add a credit card and confirm your plan. You'll be billed monthly on your signup date.

See Plans & Pricing for more details.

Step 6: Review & Complete

Review your setup:

  • Agency profile
  • Carrier appointments
  • Agent settings
  • Team members (if invited)
  • Billing plan

Click Finish Setup to complete.
