Quoting Agent

Intelligent quote ranking and selection

Quoting Agent

The Quoting Agent ranks comparative quotes based on premium, carrier fit, and historical win probability.

How It Works

When you click Shop All Carriers, the Quoting Agent:

  1. Gathers Quotes — Receives responses from all appointed carriers (30–60 seconds)
  2. Ranks by Criteria:
    • Premium — Lower premium weighted 40%
    • Fit — Appetite match weighted 35%
    • Win Probability — Historical close rate weighted 25%
  3. Highlights Best Quote — Displays top 3 recommendations
  4. Explains Reasoning — Shows why each quote ranked where it did

Understanding the Ranking

The Quoting Agent assigns a Win Probability Score (1–100) based on:

  • Historical data: similar risks, similar carriers, same underwriter
  • Market positioning: is this carrier competitive for this risk?
  • Client fit: does the coverage match what the client asked for?

Example:

  • Quote 1: State Farm, $1,100/year, 92 win probability (recommended)
  • Quote 2: Travelers, $1,050/year, 68 win probability (cheaper but riskier)
  • Quote 3: GEICO, $1,200/year, 45 win probability (poor fit)

You might pick Quote 1 (best fit) even though Quote 2 is cheaper. The agent explains the trade-off.

Manual Override

You can ignore the agent's ranking:

  1. View all shopped quotes
  2. Select any carrier you prefer
  3. Agent notes your choice; learns from it

Configuring the Quoting Agent

Settings:

| Setting | Options | Effect | |---------|---------|--------| | Weighting | Premium 40/Fit 35/Probability 25 (adjustable) | Changes ranking emphasis | | Min Win Prob | 0–100 | Hide low-probability quotes | | Price Threshold | $X over lowest | Hide quotes above a certain premium | | Hide Declined | Yes/No | Show/hide carrier declines |

For example, if you always want the cheapest option, increase Premium weighting to 70%.
