Cancel Account
You can cancel your BindPilot account anytime. Here's what to know before you go.
Before You Cancel
Consider these alternatives:

Canceling Your Account
Step 1: Go to Settings
- Go to Settings > Billing > Current Plan
- Scroll to bottom
- Click Cancel Subscription
Step 2: Confirm Cancellation
BindPilot shows:
- Your current plan and next billing date
- Data retention policy (see below)
- A feedback form (optional; helps us improve)
- Click Confirm Cancellation
Note: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You continue to have full access until then.
Example:
- Today: Apr 13
- Next billing date: May 13
- Cancel now: May 13 is your last day of access and charges
- After May 13: Account is suspended
Step 3: No Refund
BindPilot does not offer refunds for mid-cycle cancellations. You've used the service for the month; you owe for that month.
Exception: If you cancel within 30 days of signup (during trial), you may be eligible for a full refund. Contact matt@bindpilot.ai.
What Happens to Your Data
During the 90-Day Archive Period
After cancellation:
- Your account becomes read-only (no new quotes, no edits)
- All data is archived (clients, policies, quotes, renewals)
- You can still download your data as CSV
- Agents are disabled
This archive period lasts 90 days.
After 90 Days
Your data is permanently deleted:
- Clients
- Policies
- Quotes
- Documents
- Invoices
- Team members
This cannot be undone.
Downloading Your Data Before Canceling
Export your data before the archive period ends:
- Go to Clients > Export
- Choose format (CSV or Excel)
- Click Download
- All clients, policies, contact info exported
Do this for:
- Clients (contact info, policy summary)
- Commissions (Accounting > Commission Report > Export)
- Policies (Analytics > Policies > Export)
- Any custom documents (download manually)
Store these files safely for your records.
Reactivating Your Account
If you cancel and change your mind:
Within 90 days:
- Email matt@bindpilot.ai to reactivate
- Your data is restored
- You resume billing at your previous plan
After 90 days:
- Your data is deleted permanently
- You must sign up as a new account
- No data recovery possible
Team Members After Cancellation
When you cancel:
- All team members lose access immediately
- They receive email notification
- Their accounts cannot log in
You don't need to manually remove them.
Outstanding Invoices
If you have an unpaid invoice:
- Cancel only takes effect after you pay
- BindPilot will not archive your data until the invoice is settled
- Contact matt@bindpilot.ai if you have questions
Feedback
When you cancel, BindPilot asks for feedback:
- "Why are you canceling?"
- Options: Too expensive, Not enough features, Found alternative, Not using it, Other
- Optional comment box
Your feedback helps us improve. Share it if you're comfortable.
Final Checklist Before Canceling
- ☐ Exported clients and policies as CSV
- ☐ Downloaded past invoices for tax records
- ☐ Notified team members (optional; they'll get email)
- ☐ Confirmed you want to cancel (not just frustrated)
- ☐ Know that data deletes after 90 days
