Upgrade & Downgrade

Change your BindPilot plan anytime. Changes take effect immediately or at the end of your billing cycle.

Upgrading Your Plan

From Starter to Professional

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Current Plan
  2. Click Upgrade to Professional
  3. Review new plan details:
    • Cost: $499/month vs. $199/month
    • Additional: 3 seats, Renewal Agent, custom templates
  4. Click Confirm Upgrade
  5. Billing: BindPilot prorates the difference and charges immediately

Proration example:

  • Started Starter 10 days into month ($199/30 = $1.63/day, so $66.30 used)
  • Upgrade to Professional ($499/30 = $4.97/day, so $499.70 for remaining 30 days)
  • Credit: $66.30 (Starter charges)
  • Charge: $499.70 (Professional for the month)
  • Net charge: $133.40 (prorated difference)

Access: Your 3 new seats are available immediately. You can add team members right away.

From Professional to Agency

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Current Plan
  2. Click Upgrade to Agency
  3. Review new features:
    • Unlimited seats
    • White-label branding
    • Dedicated account manager
  4. Click Confirm Upgrade
  5. Billing: Prorated charge immediately

Example:

  • Professional charges: $499 (already paid this month)
  • Agency cost: $999 (for the month)
  • Credit: $499
  • Charge: $249 (difference for remainder of month)

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle (no immediate refund).

From Professional to Starter

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Current Plan
  2. Click Downgrade to Starter
  3. Confirm:
    • Cost: $499 → $199/month
    • You'll lose: 2 seats, Renewal Agent, custom templates
    • Date: Downgrade effective [End of Month]
  4. Click Confirm Downgrade

What happens to your extra seats:

  • You currently have 3 seats. Downgrading to Starter gives you 1 seat.
  • Team members on seats 2 and 3: Their access freezes at downgrade date.
  • You need to remove them from those seats or upgrade back up.

Agent access:

  • Renewal Agent and Client Service Agent become read-only (can't edit settings)
  • Existing agent history/logs remain viewable

From Agency to Professional

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Current Plan
  2. Click Downgrade to Professional
  3. Confirm:
    • Cost: $999 → $499/month
    • You'll lose: Unlimited seats (capped at 3), white-label, dedicated support
    • Date: Downgrade effective [End of Month]

What happens to excess team members:

  • You have 5 producers. Professional supports 3.
  • At downgrade date, producers 4–5 lose access.
  • You must remove them before downgrade, or manage the freeze.

Mid-Cycle Changes

Upgrades are immediate (you pay the difference right away).

Downgrades are effective next cycle (no immediate refund, but your charge next month is lower).

Example timeline:

  • Apr 13: Subscribe to Professional ($499/month)
  • May 13: Upgrade to Agency → Charged $250 prorated difference immediately
  • June 13: Normal Agency charge ($999)
  • July 13: Downgrade to Professional (effective Aug 13)
  • Aug 13: Charged $499 (Professional)

Cancellation vs. Downgrade

Currently, only Downgrade and Cancel are available.

Check Settings > Billing > Invoices to see:

  • Past invoices (PDF download)
  • Due dates
  • Payment status
